Why are we here?

Today, I don’t come with bold answers or confident conclusions. I come with a question — one that humbles every human heart: God, what is the meaning of life? Why are we here? Why did You place us on this earth, in this time, with these thoughts, these longings, these fragile bodies that ache to understand something eternal? Is it to worship You? To reflect Your love? To carry Your light into a dark and searching world? Or are we simply meant to live, to love, to suffer and grow — and through that, come to know You more? There are days, Lord, when life feels full of purpose, rich with beauty. But there are also days when it feels empty, confusing, and cruel. And still, in both the joy and the silence, we ask: Is this what You intended? You gave us minds that wonder, hearts that break, and spirits that reach for something beyond what we can touch. Did You write the meaning of life into our very breath — not as a sentence, but as a song we must learn to sing with You? Perhaps the meaning isn’t found in answers at all, but in the way we seek You. In how we treat one another. In the quiet trust we hold when nothing makes sense — yet we still choose to believe You are near. So, God, we ask. Not in doubt, but in longing. Teach us what it means to live. Not just to exist — but to live with You, for You, through You. And in that asking… maybe we begin to understand.
